Immigration Debates

Republicans VS. Democrats

Republicans
The definition of Republican states that a republican is one that favors a Republic. They also favor a Republican form of government. With that in mind, one must look at immigration issues with a Republican mindset. Republicans wish to tighten up immigration by increasing controls and security at our borders specifically the Mexico border. They wish to heighten security and issue more cameras and border patrol members. The use of unmanned aerial flights would be used more often if they could. Also, they believe that every immigrant must have identification verification.
Generally, Republicans wish to lessen the number and population of immigrants here in the United States. Their main focus would be to add more border patrol.
With the Amnesty, they believe it is encouraging immigration. When examining immigration, Republicans favor immigration only when needing specific skills that could benefit the nation as a whole .
They examine the immigration policies and claim that with the corrupt border measures, gang violence, narcotic trafficking, and servitude and slavery have gone up to the tens of thousands. They realize that our country has thrived and improved thanks to many immigrants and citizens, they visualize the tightening of border patrol in order to have a secure and safe country.

Democrats
Within the immigration policies and the advancements that have taken place, there are strictly two opposing sides of this topic. You have the free marketers strictly against cultural conservatives on the right side of the spectrum; while on the left, you have the civil rights and ethnic advocacy groups against environmentalists and people who want to save jobs.
The Democratic Party tends to stand more liberal. Currently, with the issues today, people who favor the immigration policies are corporate interests that profit off the cheap labor, civil libertarians, humanitarians, religious activist, and ethnic lobbyists who want to strengthen their political base. Right now, with what is going on in Arizona, it is an important time for Democrats. They want to open more jobs up those who are willing to work what U.S. citizens won’t do.
The Democrats believe that within the stricter border control, there have been inhumane acts to those who are border-crossers. With that, they also believe that within the wage issues and the downward slope it is having on the minimum wage, it can be leading towards decreasing job availability all across the nation. There is not one state that is not affected. There have been thousands of citizens that have been fleeing from their inhumane countries that come to America for freedom and are strictly denied it.
Democrats desire that within the ramifications of this change in immigration policy, they believe that if someone gains citizenship, that it should be extended to immediate family members as well.  They state that they want to eliminate any national preferences of which foreigners can be allowed to enter and stay as a citizen. You shouldn’t be judged by which country you are from and they should accept most who are willing to go through the legal process of gaining citizenship. The Labor advocates who are in charge of making policies should become stricter when it comes to the issuing of working identification cards.  This would deflate the pressure that is placed on the Mexican Border.
In the end, Democrats are hoping to make a change in the immigration policy by giving the world access of becoming a U.S. citizen who is willing to go through the whole process and to those who qualify. In doing so, they hope to keep common human rights protected to all who are affected by it. In making some of these changes, they hope to lower immigration flows from certain countries by allowing some immigration. They want to prioritize immigration to those who are fleeing from prosecution in different countries. They also want to streamline different working programs and offering them to workers who take jobs that U.S. residents don’t want, while guaranteeing their rights and privileges to certain benefits that citizens have such as unemployment.
